USPS is Looking for Committed Individuals to Fill Immediate Openings

SOUTH CAROLINA — The United States Postal Service is hiring to fill a variety of positions at several post offices in South Carolina, with salaries ranging from $18.92 to $19.06 per hour. USPS is a great place to work, with job security, career advancement opportunities and benefits.

As package volumes continue to increase due to the steady trend of online shopping – and because of growth in communities – the Postal Service continues to hire to keep pace. As a result, there is an immediate need for jobs to be filled.

Current positions available now through May include:

  • Assistant Rural Carrier: Cases, delivers and collects mail along a rural route using a vehicle. Provide customers on the route with a variety of services. Saturday, Sunday and Holiday delivery. Salary: $19.06 per hour.
  • Rural Carrier Associate: Cases, delivers and collects mail along a rural route using a vehicle. Provide customers on the route with a variety of services. Salary: $19.06 per hour.
  • City Carrier Assistant: Delivers and collects mail on foot or by vehicle under varying road and weather conditions in assigned areas. Salary: $18.92 per hour.

Applicants must be 18 years of age. All applicants must be able to pass drug screening and a criminal background investigation. Applicants must have a valid state driver’s license, a safe driving record, and at last two years of unsupervised experience driving passenger cars or larger.  The driving must have taken place in the U.S. or its possessions or territories or in U.S. military installations worldwide.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
