New Myrtle Beach Postmaster: Shamika Roberts Brings Extensive Experience to the Role

Myrtle Beach, SC — The United States Postal Service is pleased to announce the appointment of Shamika Roberts as the new Postmaster of Myrtle Beach. This pivotal role comes as the Postal Service continues its commitment to providing exceptional service while executing initiatives such as the Delivering for America plan.

Shamika Roberts began her dedicated postal career on July 23, 2005, as a Part-time Flexible City Carrier in Chadbourn, North Carolina. With a steadfast commitment to excellence and customer service, she quickly progressed to a Full-time Regular City Carrier in Lumberton. Her managerial acumen was recognized early on, as she stepped into the role of acting supervisor (204B) in 2011.

In her career, Roberts has shown a remarkable ability to advance within the organization, becoming Supervisor of Customer Service at the Laurinburg Post Office in October 2016, and later promoted to Postmaster of Laurinburg in April 2017. Her leadership has been instrumental in enhancing operations and improving community relations within the postal service.

Most recently, Roberts was detailed to serve as a team member for the Delivering for America Plan, focusing on the S&DC Transfer Hub for the North Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia Districts. This experience has further equipped her with the skills and vision to lead the Myrtle Beach Post Office in a manner that aligns with the Postal Service's strategic goals.
