USPS Final Decision

NASHVILLE, TN — USPS Tennessee District announced it has proposed to relocate the Ooltewah Post Office from the current location. The Postal Service has initially identified the lot directly across from the transfer station on Little Debbie Parkway. If this location is not adequate or an agreement cannot be reached with its owner, the Postal Service will consider other sites.

The Postal Service previously held a community meeting to discuss the Ooltewah Post Office status on Apr. 8, 2019. After carefully considering all comments made at the meeting, the decision was made to proceed with a new space project. The project will allow the Postal Service to continue retail operations for customers in Ooltewah for the long term.

The Postal Service anticipates providing the same retail services at the new location as are currently offered at the Ooltewah Post Office. Additionally, the Postal Service plans to continue services at the current post office until the replacement facility is open and operational.

The Tennessee District serves ZIP Codes 370-374, 376-385 in Tennessee and 307 in northern Georgia.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
