Jonesborough Post Office to present 50-year service award
JONESBOROUGH, TN — He was likely listening to Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head on the radio when Danny Stott began career in federal service. That was the #1 song in the country on Jan. 2, 1970.
The Postal Service will honor Stott for his 50 years of dedicated service at a special ceremony on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. The ceremony will take place at The McKinney Center at Booker T. Washington School, 103 Franklin Ave., Jonesborough, TN 37659. The public is invited to attend.
After serving in the United States Air Force, Stott started his career with the Postal Service where he is currently customer service supervisor at the Jonesborough Post Office. “We are so proud of Danny and honored to work with someone who has had such a long and distinguished career,” said Jonesborough Postmaster Tim Dean.
The Tennessee District serves ZIP Codes 370-374, 376-385 in Tennessee and 307 in northern Georgia.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses, and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
