Potential Relocation for Ocoee, TN Post Office and Comment Period

What:

In 2021, the U.S. Postal Service® is proposing to relocate the Ocoee Tennessee Post Office.

COVID PROTOCOL APPROVED POSTCARD
To Be Sent in Lieu of Community Contact Meeting

Background:

The former location was destroyed by a Tornado in late November of 2016, and the Postal Service would like to replace the facility for our customers and the community. The Postal Service proposes placing a building on a lot of approximately ½ an acre or 21,780 square feet in size, within one mile of the old facility location.  The proposed new facility will maintain the same level of service.

If the reinstallation is approved, Postal retail services will remain in the community at a different physical location within the same geographical ZIP Code area. There will be no changes to mail delivery, customers’ addresses or Post Office Boxes as a result of this relocation. Retail Services will continue at the current site in Benton TN until such time as all necessary preparations are completed at the new location in Ocoee.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, instead of a public meeting, we are inviting you to send your comments on the proposal to the following address within the next 30 days:

ATTN.: Ocoee Tennessee Relocation Project
United States Postal Service
 P.O. Box 27497
Greensboro, NC 27498-1103

The Tennessee District serves ZIP Codes 370-374, 376-385 in Tennessee and 307 in northern Georgia.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
