Local Post Office Earns Certification – Oliver Springs

OLIVER SPRINGS, TN — The Postal Service has named employees of the Oliver Springs Post Office a Certified Engaged Team. A recognition program was held recently, via ZOOM, with congratulations offered by Tennessee District Manager Chris Alexander.

The Postal Service internal employee survey is called Postal Pulse and is conducted by Gallup, Inc. In order to qualify as a Certified Engaged Team, postal work units must have 75% or more participation in the Postal Pulse survey and a Mean Percentile Rank of 75% or higher. Certified Engaged Teams are considered “Best in Class” and are compared to Gallup’s extensive global client database. An engaged team is described as involved in, committed to, and enthusiastic about their work. Achieving this status requires continuous intentional focus on actions that engage employees.

Oliver Springs Postmaster Shirley “Midge” Stephens believes part of their success reflects the care they take to ensure employee safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. “We want to make sure everyone feels they work in a clean and safe environment,” she said.

The Tennessee District honored three additional post offices named Certified Engaged Teams: Milan, TN Post Office; South Pittsburg, TN Post Office; and Winchester, TN Post Office.

The Tennessee District serves ZIP Codes 370-374, 376-385 in Tennessee and 307 in northern Georgia.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses, and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
