John Logan Named Fayetteville Postmaster

Manages USPS Retail & Delivery Services for Fayetteville

John Logan Fayetteville Postmaster

FAYETTEVILLE, TN — John C. Logan has been promoted to Postmaster of the Fayetteville Post Office after more than a year of acting in the position.

Logan follows a long tradition of postal service in the community, where the first postmaster – John P. McConnell – was documented as being appointed in 1811.  Mr. Logan is the 29th postmaster of Fayetteville.

Logan began his postal career in 2000 as a city carrier in Fayetteville.  Fayetteville Post Office was awarded a VPP site by OSHA during his assignment as Safety Captain.  The Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) is a strenuous safety program that invites OSHA into the facility to critique all aspects of safety in the workplace. He also served as the Combined Federal Campaign Coordinator for Southern Tennessee area in 2010.  He eventually crossed over into management in 2012 as Supervisor Customer Services.

“To me, being postmaster is a prestigious position that entails a high level of responsibility, commitment and integrity, not only to our customers, but to my employees as well,” Logan said. “USPS is the original social network. We are connecting people every single day, the same way Ben Franklin did in his day. I am proud to be a part of that rich history. As postmaster, my goal is to ensure the safety of my employees, while providing quality service to our customers.”

Logan and Shea, his beautiful wife of 23 ½ years, have a daughter, Kinsley, who recently graduated from Sewanee University and a son, Laten, who is currently a senior at Moore County High School.  He enjoys farming and feeding 153 head of cattle when he is not at work.

As the Postmaster of Fayetteville, Logan supervises 38 employees and oversees the retail services and daily distribution of mail to over 14,000 delivery stops and 3 Remote Managed Post Offices. Fayetteville Post Office was recently recognized for achieving 50 consecutive 100% Retail Customer Experience shops, which is the longest running streak in the nation.
