Manages USPS Retail & Delivery Services for Sweetwater Community
SWEETWATER, TN — Christopher Lindsay currently serves as the Officer-In-Charge (OIC) in Sweetwater Post Office. An OIC fulfills the same responsibilities as a Postmaster, managing the daily operations of a post office, with regards to mail delivery, retail services, and other operations, in order to serve our customers.
Lindsay oversees the management of the day-to-day workings of the Sweetwater Post Office, which includes serving more than 6,600 deliveries, 11 routes, over 360 Post Office Boxes, 25 employees and ensuring the organization’s rules and procedures are followed.
Lindsay began his postal career in 2005 as a Rural Carrier Associate in Clinton, TN. “My father pushed me into USPS. He said I needed a career, not a job,” said Lindsay. “I wanted a place where I could make a difference. I loved seeing the mail man and mail lady growing up and speaking with them.”
Lindsay worked as a Supervisor, Customer Service in La Follette, TN, Oak Ridge, TN, Sevierville, TN, and Madisonville, TN. He served as Officer-In-Charge in Madisonville, TN and Dayton, TN.
“In alignment with Postmaster General DeJoy’s Delivering For America 10-year plan, our vision in Sweetwater is to exemplify excellence in everything we do and achieve the mission of USPS financial sustainability and service excellence,” said Lindsay. “We have an amazing team at Sweetwater and I’m proud to be a part of it.”
Lindsay and his beautiful wife, Meghan, have three children, Jeremy, Payson, and Palmer. He has a Morkie named Neyland, who is his best friend. His family loves the Tennessee Vols and they enjoy riding side-by-side on ATVs at Windrock Park in Oliver Springs, TN.
