NEWBERN, TN — Kayla Mason has come a long way from a Postal Support Employee (PSE) Sales, Services, & Distribution clerk in Mayfield, KY Post Office to Newbern Postmaster.  Her career began in 2016.

Mason moved from Kentucky to Tennessee and worked at the Dresden Post Office as a clerk.  She joined the management team in 2019 as a Supervisor Customer Service.  She served as Officer-In-Charge in several post offices prior to her appointment as Postmaster in Newbern in 2022.

Mason oversees the management of the day-to-day workings of the Newbern Post Office, which includes serving more than 4,000 delivers, two retail services units – Trimble & Newbern, 15 employees, and ensuring the organization’s rules and procedures are followed.  

“In alignment with Postmaster General DeJoy’s Delivering For America 10-year plan, our vision in Newbern is to exemplify excellence in everything we do and achieve the mission of USPS financial sustainability and service excellence,” said Mason. “We have an amazing team at Newbern and I’m proud to be a part of it.”

“I make sure all my employees have the tools and training they need to ensure all mail is delivered daily and our customers have a great experience at our office.”

Mason and her husband, Jonathan, have two daughters. They enjoy taking care of their farm with their daughters and teaching them about life, values, and hard work.
