Background:

Midge Stephens was selected as Postmaster of Corryton, TN on April 23, 2022. As Postmaster, Stephens oversees delivery and retail operations at the Corryton Post Office. The Corryton Post Office team is made up of 20 dedicated individuals, serving an estimated population of 14,163 people. Corryton postal operations include a total of 9 rural routes with over 6500 deliveries and 320 Post Office Boxes.

“When I was seven years old, my local Postmaster gifted me my first set of Olympic Issue sheet of stamps which started my passion for my ever-growing stamp collection, and desire to become a Postmaster,” said Stephens.  “To me, ‘Delivering for America’ means creating a sustainable future for the Postal Service by engaging in employee development, supporting the community, and providing excellent service.”

In 1994, Stephens started her postal career as a Rural Carrier Associate at Morristown, TN. She quickly got involved in office programs and activities serving as safety, NALC Food Drive and Combine Federal Campaign coordinator.

She joined the management ranks in 2013 in Morristown, TN as Supervisor, Customer Services. She worked as Supervisor, Customer Service in New Tazewell, TN and Station Manager in Sevierville, TN. She, also, served as Officer-In-Charge in several post offices.  She was Postmaster in Oliver Springs, TN, prior to being selected as Postmaster, Corryton, TN.

Stephens is married to Scott Stephens, who is Postmaster in Blaine, TN. “I am blessed beyond measure with an incredible husband and two sons: Dylan Scott Stephens and Wm. Anderson Kirkland III, who is married to Kristen, and granddaughter Allie Rose.”

Stephens enjoys scuba diving, arts & crafts, serving as wedding coordinator and serving at her local church.
