Background:

James Sanders was selected as Postmaster of Lyles, TN on December 2, 2023. As Postmaster, Sanders oversees delivery and retail operations at the Lyles Post Office. The Lyles Post Office team is made up of 17 dedicated individuals. Lyles postal operations include 2 retail units, a total of 10 rural routes with approximately 5300 deliveries and 500 Post Office Boxes.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to be Postmaster of this great community of Lyles and Bon Aqua,” said Sanders.  “My goal is to continue providing excellent customer service by developing my employees and empowering them with the skills and knowledge to provide first-class service as outlined in the PMG’s Delivering for America 10-Year Plan .”

Sanders started his postal career as a temporary rural carrier in Jan. 2011 at the Franklin, TN Post Office. In 2021, he joined management ranks as Supervisor Customer Service. He served as Officer In Charge at Franklin and Lewisburg Post Office and Postmaster in Summertown, TN prior to his promotion as Lyles Postmaster.

Sanders and his wife, Emily, have two children, Lakelyn and Landon, with one more on the way. When Sanders is not at work, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and most of all spending time with his family.
