USPS Considers Relocation of Retail Services for the Oakland, TN Main Office

45-day Comment Period Commences

OAKLAND, TN — The U.S. Postal Service is considering the potential relocation of retail operations from the Oakland, TN Main Office at 14695 Hwy 194 Oakland, TN 38060 to a new location within a one-mile radius from the current location in the city of Oakland.

The Postal Service is considering relocation because the current facility is too small for operational requirements.

The Postal Service will continue retail services in the current Post Office until the new post office is up and running.

Oakland, TN Main Office Station customers have been notified about the potential relocation through a postcard in the mail and will have the opportunity to provide comments regarding the proposal.

We are inviting customers to send their comments on the proposal to the following address. Comments must be received by September 15, 2025.

After the comment period, the Postal Service will consider the comments received.  Following that consideration, the Postal Service will make a final decision to proceed with, modify, or cancel the proposal.
