Austin South Congress Station Post Office Lobby Hours Modified
AUSTIN, TX – Protecting the sanctity of the mail and ensuring a safe experience for our customers is extremely important to the Postal Service. In an effort to keep customers’ mail secure, Austin Officer In Charge Leroy Middleton, Jr. has announced that, effective Dec. 17, 2018, P.O. Box lobby hours at Austin’s South Congress Post Office, located at 3903 S. Congress Ave., Austin, TX 78704, will be modified as shown below.
Effective Monday, Dec. 17, access to our P.O. Box lobby area will be as follows:
Monday to Saturday: 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Sunday: 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Previously, the South Congress Station’s P.O. Box lobby was accessible 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Recent incidents have necessitated the modification in the hours of operation.
“We’ve seen an increase in acts of vandalism overnight at this location,” says Middleton. “For the safety of our customers and the security of the mail, it was decided to make the change in lobby hours.”
Letters were provided to P.O. Box holders at this location and signage is posted, advising the public of this change. There will be no change in retail hours of operation. A complete listing of Post Offices and hours of operation can be found on the Postal Service website: www.usps.com, or customers may call 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777).
We sincerely regret any inconvenience to our customers.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
