Extended Retail Hours: Postal facilities throughout San Antonio, and surrounding areas, are either opening early and/or extending their hours leading up to Christmas Day. These designated offices will provide full retail services, including stamp sales and package acceptance.  Extended hours will begin on December 8 and run through December 22; additionally, the locations listed below will have extended hours on Saturdays and Sundays where noted. 2018 Christmas Shipping Deadlines
For delivery in anticipation of Christmas, the Postal Service recommends keeping the following mailing and shipping deadlines in mind:

  • Dec. 11    – APO/FPO/DPO Priority Mail & First Class Mail
  • Dec. 14    – USPS Retail Ground
  • Dec. 20    – Priority Mail & First Class Mail
  • Dec. 22    – Priority Mail Express

The Postal Service expects to deliver a total of approximately 15 billion cards, letters, flats, and packages during the 2018 holiday season. In addition, we are projecting approximately 900 million packages will be delivered between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve.

In time for the holidays, the Postal Service will offer real-time delivery notifications – meaning customers who sign up for alerts at myusps.com will receive notification within a few minutes of the delivery scan for select packages.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
