Houston, TX – The Postal Service continues to restore service to our customers. As an integral part of the communities we serve, the Postal Service is continuing recovery efforts every day, so we can reconnect our customers and businesses with their mail.
The information below provides an update on postal operations in affected areas of the Houston District of the Postal Service. Although our North Houston mail processing facility sustained some damage during torrential rains, all employees are safe. We are currently evaluating conditions in the facility and will resume operations as soon as it is safe to do so.
Any mail within the facility is secure and safe and we have Postal Police and Postal Inspectors on site to ensure the sanctity of all mail.
In addition, most of our Post Offices are open for business and we are delivering to homes and businesses, wherever it is safe and accessible to do so. We are committed to serving our customers in the Houston and surrounding areas, as recovery from Tropical Storm Imelda continues. We remind our customers to visit About.usps.com/news/service-alerts for the latest service information.
