Every year, USPS partners with San Antonio Animal Care Services to raise awareness in the San Antonio community and make neighborhoods a safer place for employees and residents. While one dog attack is one too many, we are pleased to report that we have seen improvement in San Antonio from 36 incidents in 2020 to 30 in 2021. Nationwide, more than 5,400 postal employees were attacked by dogs in the United States in 2021. Again this year, USPS is sponsoring National Dog Bite Awareness Week, a public service campaign, from June 5 – June 11. This year’s theme is “The USPS Delivers for America — Deliver for Us by Restraining Your Dog.”
