HOUSTON — Following a review of public feedback, the U.S. Postal Service has made a final decision to relocate retail services from the Addicks Barker Station, 16830 Barker Springs Road, Suite 401, Houston, TX 77084, to a new yet-to-be determined nearby location.

The Postal Service anticipates providing the same services at the new location as were provided to our Addicks Barker customers. The Postal Service plans to continue to offer services at the Fleetwood Post Office, 315 Addicks Howell Road, Houston, TX 77079, until the replacement facility is open and operating as a Post Office.

Because of the termination of our lease, the Postal Service was forced to suspend operations at Addicks Barker Station and look for a new facility.

While the Postal Service is sensitive to the impact of this decision on its customers and the Houston community, the USPS properly considered community input and this decision is consistent with Postal Service objectives.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
