Background:
On Saturday, May 13, San Antonio’s Letter Carriers will celebrate the 31st anniversary of the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. This year’s kick-off event will include a special stamp dedication of the 2023 U.S. Flag Forever Stamp. The stamp art bears a graphic of the red, white, and blue; and the manner in which the word FREEDOM is positioned suggests the endurance of freedom for all as a core value.
Life can deal ordinary hard-working people very difficult hands. So often, this food drive makes a positive difference for them. With over 30 years of letter carriers’ commitment to the Food Drive and over 1.8 billion pounds of food collected across the country, some in our community are still in need. Ending hunger is a challenge letter carriers have taken on. Letter Carriers, without fail, deliver our mail; and, on May 13, they will also pick up food donations as they deliver along their routes. Join your letter carrier in this call to action to fill the CPS-sponsored bags with nonperishable food and place it by your mailbox. As a community, we will STAMP OUT HUNGER.
