Background:
On Saturday, May 13, Houston’s Letter Carriers will celebrate the 31st anniversary of the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.
Life can deal ordinary hard-working people very difficult hands. So often, this food drive makes a positive difference for them. With over 30 years of letter carriers’ commitment to the Food Drive and over 1.8 billion pounds of food collected across the country, some in our community are still in need. Ending hunger is a challenge letter carriers have taken on. Letter carriers, without fail, deliver our mail; and, on May 13, they will also pick up food donations as they deliver along their routes. Join your letter carrier in this call to action by donating nonperishable food and placing it by your mailbox. As a community, we will STAMP OUT HUNGER.
