Melissa McCranie

MOODY, TX — Melissa McCranie is the new Postmaster of Moody, Texas.

McCranie began her Postal Service career in Humble, Texas, in 1999, continuing a family legacy of Postal workers. After a brief break, she returned to the Postal Service, in October 2007, as a Rural Carrier Associate in Temple, Texas.

McCranie continued advancing her career by becoming a Rural Carrier in January 2014, then a Growth Coordinator and Safety Team member, supporting employees and customers in Temple. After many years in an acting capacity as a Supervisor, Customer Services, McCranie was promoted to the position in Killeen, Texas, in August 2023. She then served in an assignment as Officer In Charge in Gatesville, Texas, immediately prior to her promotion to Postmaster of Moody, Texas.

As Postmaster, McCranie manages postal operations in Moody and Flat, with four rural routes and ten employees.

McCranie and her team are dedicated to achieving the goals of Delivering for America, the Postal Service’s 10-year plan for achieving financial sustainability and service excellence. Since its launch in 2021, the Postal Service has made great progress in its four key pillars: investing in its people, modernizing its network, providing service excellence, and creating financial sustainability.

McCranie and her husband, Robert, have two children - daughter Ashley, a Postal Service employee in Temple, and son, Dakota - and two dogs, Tank and D.O.G. (pronounced Dee-oh-gee).

“I am very excited to be the new Postmaster of Moody. As a small business owner myself, I look forward to helping other small business owners expand their network by using the various products the Postal Service has to offer,” said McCranie.
