SAN ANTONIO, TX — Today, the United States Postal Service (USPS) delivered its 8 billionth mail piece of the 2024 holiday season, continuing its mission to deliver for the American people. The 8 billionth mail piece was delivered by San Antonio Letter Carrier Ruben De La Garza to customers Oliver and Rosemarie Evancho in the Windcrest neighborhood. The residence was the perfect location to commemorate a milestone delivery, all dressed up for the holiday season with décor celebrating the 65th anniversary of the Windcrest’s light-up tradition, that Oliver handmade himself.

The special package arrived right on time from Mrs. Evancho’s aunt, in Hobart, Indiana. “My aunt will be thrilled to know her package was number 8 billion,” said Evancho.

Letter Carrier De La Garza was all too familiar with the residence, having delivered parts of Windcrest for the last 30 years. “I am honored to be a part of this special delivery to some of my very special customers,” said De La Garza.

“Already delivering 8 billion of pieces of mail so far this holiday season shows the dedication of our hardworking employees at the United States Postal Service,” said San Antonio Postmaster Robert Carr. “We look forward to continuing to deliver exceptional service for the remainder of the 2024 holidays and beyond.”
