USPS Names Kirt Forsyth as the 39th Postmaster of Austin, Texas

AUSTIN, TX – Kirt Forsyth has been named the 39th Postmaster of Austin, TX. As Postmaster, Forsyth oversees retail and delivery operations for the fourth largest city in Texas, and the second largest capital city in the United States.

With a dedicated workforce of 1,311 employees, the Austin postal team serves 984,567 residents at 22 facilities throughout the city, delivering on a total of 701 routes. In FY24, more than 250 million pieces of mail and packages were delivered by the Austin team.

Forsyth began his Postal career in 1989 as a City Letter Carrier in Monterey Park, CA. In 2004, he joined the management ranks in Covina, CA, and later served as Manager, Customer Services before he was promoted to Postmaster of Glendora, CA in 2011. Since that time, Forsyth has taken on roles of increasing responsibility including Postmaster of Alhambra, CA; Postmaster of Corona, CA; Postmaster of Anaheim, CA; as well as Manager, Post Office Operations and Manager, Operations Program Support in the California 4 District. In 2021, he joined the California 5 District as Manager, Operations Integration, later becoming Postmaster of Long Beach, CA.

Forsyth is a graduate of the USPS Managerial Leadership Program, Management Essentials for Field Leadership, and holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
