Background:
Each year, letter carriers across the country head out on their routes on the second Saturday in May to collect donations of non-perishable food items to benefit local food pantries. With over 30 years of letter carriers’ commitment to the Food Drive and over 1.9 billion pounds of food collected across the country, some in our community are still in need. Ending hunger is a challenge letter carrier have taken on. Letter carriers, without fail, deliver our mail, and on May 10th, they will also collect food donations while they deliver along their routes. Join your letter carrier in this call to action by donating nonperishable food and placing it by your mailbox. As a community, we will Stamp Out Hunger®.
