AMARILLO, TX – The United States Postal Service seeks to hire for the position of Electronic Technician in the Amarillo area. An Electronic Technician (ET) independently performs a full range of diagnostic and preventive maintenance on both hardware and software on a variety of mail processing, customer service, and building equipment and systems. An ET also carries out all phases of maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing of electronic circuitry.
This position offers a starting annual salary of $74,772 (paid bi-weekly). It is a career position which offers excellent benefits. Newly hired employees are covered by the Federal Employees Retirement System. Upon hire, employees are eligible to contribute into the Thrift Savings Plan, similar to a 401(k) plan. USPS also offers the option to enroll in the Postal Service Health Benefits program and the Federal Employees Group Life Insurance. Dental, Vision and Long-Term Care Insurance Programs and Flexible Spending Programs to cover eligible out-of-pocket health care and dependent care expenses are also available. USPS offers eleven paid federal holidays, as well as accrued vacation and sick leave.
