Background:
All Oath of Office ceremonies are special, but this one has significant meaning to Tim as James French, who will be administering the Oath of Office, was his Postmaster and mentor when French was a Postmaster in New Mexico.
As Postmaster of Slaton, Tim will oversee delivery and retail operations in Slaton, Wilson, and New Home. The Postal team is made up of 17 dedicated individuals, serving an estimated population of more than 6,600 residents.
Tim Hodges is a native of New Mexico. He began his Postal career as a Casual Clerk in Roswell, NM, in 1990. Tim has vast experience, having worked in various positions, in both mail processing and customer services, including clerk; letter carrier; Supervisor, Customer Services; Manager, Customer Services; and Officer In Charge. In 2011, Tim pursued a career in the oil and gas industry. He returned to the Postal Service in 2019 as a City Carrier Associate in Lubbock, TX. He later held a Supervisor, Customer Services position in Littlefield, TX, and also served as Officer In Charge in Shallowater, Wolfforth, Littlefield, and Slaton before being selected as Slaton’s Postmaster in January 2025.
Tim’s family has a postal background. His brother is the Postmaster of Cloudcroft, New Mexico; his mother is a retired Retail Associate, and his father transported mail in southeastern New Mexico.
Tim has been married to his wife, Julie, for 33 years. They have a daughter, a son, and two amazing grandchildren. In his spare time, Tim enjoys golfing, hunting, and spending as much time as possible with his family.
