Jerusalem Lightfoot Takes the Oath of Office as the 11th Postmaster of Eddy, Texas

EDDY, TX – New Eddy Postmaster Jerusalem Lightfoot experienced a life-changing milestone for her and her family when, on May 14, she was officially sworn in as the 11th Postmaster of Eddy, Texas.

The ceremony was held at the Eddy Post Office with friends, colleagues and family in attendance. Manager, Post Office Operations James Biskner administered the Oath of Office, inviting husband Daniel, son Amicus, and daughter Adalynn forward to stand by her side as Lightfoot solemnly swore to faithfully discharge the duties of the office of which she was about to enter.

Lightfoot has served her entire Postal career in Texas, starting as a clerk in Chilton in 2019. After three years, she transferred to a clerk position in Eddy. She immediately expressed an interest in a management position and took a role as an acting Supervisor, Customer Services. Yearning to learn all of the intricacies of Postal operations, Lightfoot accepted assignments as Officer In Charge in Eddy, Rosebud, Riesel and Marlin. Now, stepping into the role of Postmaster, Lightfoot, along with a team of eight dedicated employees, is eager to make the Eddy Post Office a friendly and trusted place.

Reflecting on the Oath of Office ceremony, Lightfoot says, “it was a moment filled with joy and gratitude, and including my husband and children in such a significant event made the day truly unforgettable.”
