9/30 at 1PM: USPS Showcases Next-Generation Package Sorter at Dallas TX Hub

What:

The U.S. Postal Service invites members of the news media to tour the new Dallas Regional Transfer Hub (RTH) and see firsthand how the organization is modernizing its network to better serve customers.

The event will feature a demonstration of the multi induct matrix sorter (MIMS) — a state-of-the-art package sorter that will enable USPS to significantly increase its processing capacity — ahead of the peak holiday season package volume surge.

Why:

As part of its 10-year transformation plan, USPS has invested more than $19.8 billion in new network and delivery infrastructure to provide faster, more reliable service for customers. The MIMS package sorter represents an important advancement in operational efficiency, helping the Postal Service establish a well-integrated, streamlined mail and package network while increasing its daily processing capability.
