Background:
Tooele rural carrier, Barb Yauney, is retiring from the Postal Service. She has served the town of Lake point for over 28 years. Lake Point residents and Tooele postal employees are having a brief celebration on her route to say good-bye and thank her for her excellent service.
Yauney began her career on April 4, 1994, as a rural carrier associate at the Tooele Post Office in Utah. She trained on rural route 2, serving the Lake Point community. In May of 1997, she became a full-time career rural carrier and was officially awarded rural route 2. Over the years she has seen the community grow. She has watched the children of many Lake Point families transition from birth to graduation and to marriage.
“I have many postal friends and many friends in the Lake Point community that I consider family. I will miss you all.”
The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
