USPS to Retrofit Bristol, VA Dominion Station for Retail Services

BRISTOL, VA — The Appalachian District of USPS has announced a decision to remain at the Bristol, VA 24201 “Dominion Station” making the facility a “retail only” station.

The Postal Service had previously held a community meeting to discuss the Rainelle office status on September 19, 2018. After carefully considering all comments made at the meeting, the decision was made to remain in the current facility and make the necessary changes to maximize the efficiency of the space housing the retail presence. The project will allow the Postal Service to continue retail operations for our customers in Bristol for the long term.

The Postal Service anticipates providing the same services at the new location as are currently provided to our customers at the existing location. The Postal Service plans to continue to offer retail services from the existing Post Office until the replacement facility is open to the public.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
