Background:

The Princess Anne Station Post Office will be dedicated as the “Ryan Keith Cox Post Office Building” in a formal ceremony on Jan. 24, 2020.

Mr. Cox was killed in 2019 during a mass shooting at the Virginia Beach municipal building where he worked. Rep. Elaine Luria sponsored the bill to dedicate the Post Office as the Ryan Keith Cox Post Office Building. The bill was signed into Public Law 116-47 by president Donald Trump on Aug. 21, 2019.

The ceremony is free and open to the public.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
