STAR TANNERY, VA — The Star Tannery Post Office, 2112 Star Tannery Road, Star Tannery, VA, 22654, will suspend operations effective tomorrow, Sept. 22, at the close of business until such time the Postal Service can determine suitable alternate quarters that can be used for a Post Office.

In the interim, customers can access postal services at a mobile retail unit to be located at the Star Tannery Volunteer Fire Department, 950 Brill Road, Star Tannery, VA 22654. The mobile retail unit will be open 10 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Star Tannery Post Office Box customers will have access to their mail during the hours that the retail window is open at the mobile unit.

Customers with pick up/redelivery notices for accountable items requiring signature or articles too large for the mailbox can pick up their items at the Strasburg, VA Post Office, 152 W King St., Strasburg, VA 22657.

Customers who wish to obtain Post Office Box service may do so at the Strasburg Post Office. The Strasburg Post Office has 24-hour lobby access for customer convenience. Window service hours at Strasburg Post Office are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Post Office Boxes are available at this location. Check the office for fees. If applicable, Post Office Box refunds can be received at the Star Tannery Mobile Retail Unit.

Customers may purchase stamps and other philatelic products through the Postal Store at usps.com/shopstamps, by calling 800-STAMP24 (800-782-6724), by mail through USA Philatelic, or at Post Office locations nationwide.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
