FREE UNION, VA – The U.S. Postal Service plans to relocate the Free Union Post Office located at 4270 Free Union Road, to a yet-to-be-determined location as close as reasonably possible to the former site that is suitable for our operational needs. The Postal Service plans to maintain the same level of service at the new location.

The Postal Service is considering this relocation because the landlord of the current location has decided not to extend the lease.

The Postal Service will post the information required to be presented to the public in the lobby of the Free Union Post Office. We are inviting customers to send their written comments on the proposal to the following address:

Free Union customers will also be notified about the relocation through a postcard in the mail.

After the 30-day comment period, the Postal Service will consider the comments received that identify reasons why the Postal Services tentative decision and proposal is, or is not, the optimal solution for the identified need. Following that consideration, the Postal Service will make a final decision to proceed with, modify, or cancel the proposal. All related materials are posted at the Free Union Post Office lobby.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
