Postal Service Proceeds with Relocation of Big Stone Gap Post Office

BIG STONE GAP, VA — The U.S. Postal Service plans to relocate the Big Stone Gap Post Office, located at 322 Wood Ave. East, Suite 2, to a yet-to-be-determined location as close as reasonably possible to the current site that is suitable for our operational needs.

This project will allow the Postal Service to maintain and improve our service to the community. Additionally, the Postal Service plans to provide services at the current facility until the new location is operational.

To be self-sustaining, the Postal Service must make decisions that ensure it provides adequate and affordable postal services in a manner that is as efficient and economical as possible.

Since the Postal Service is sensitive to the impact of this decision on our customers and the community, customer input was sought and will be considered when determining a new location.
