Oath of Office Ceremony Takes Place July 30
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Traci Ratcliff Miller will be officially sworn in as the Virginia Beach Postmaster – the first woman to hold the position – during an installation ceremony on July 30, at noon, at the Virginia Beach Central Library.
“I am honored to serve our customers as the Postmaster in Virginia Beach,” Miller said. “Taking the oath is an important reminder of the responsibilities that I assume in this position, and I am grateful to be part of a dedicated team in Virginia Beach.”
The oath of office will be administered by District Manager Gerald Roane. The event is open to the public, and Miller will be available to meet customers following the oath of office.
In her capacity as Postmaster, Miller is the lead postal official for retail and delivery services in Virginia Beach.
“Ensuring customers receiving the best possible service whether it’s mail and package delivery, retails services or customer support, is a top priority,” Miller said.
Miller was named Virginia Beach Postmaster earlier this year. She previously served as Post Office Operations Manager, based in Hampton Roads. Her previous experience includes Postmasters of Norfolk and Chesapeake. Miller began her postal career as a part-time flexible clerk in Windsor, VA, in 1998.
