Postal Service Considers Relocation of the Providence Forge Post Office

PROVIDENCE FORGE, VA – The U.S. Postal Service mailed a postcard to the impacted residents, announcing a proposed relocation of the Providence Forge, VA Post Office currently located at 3511 N. Courthouse Road, Providence Forge, VA 23140. The postcard provides information about the public comment period.

Due to space constraints at the current facility, the Postal Service is now looking for a new retail and delivery location within a 3-mile radius of its current location. The desired size of the new facility needs to be an existing building that is approximately 3,000 – 3,500 net square feet with 21+/- dedicated parking stalls.

The relocation project will consist of procuring a suitable substitute location(s), as close as reasonably possible to the existing location. Retail Services will continue at the current Post Office or in a nearby Post Office until all necessary preparations are completed at the new location.

The Postal Service will also post information related to the relocation in the lobby of the current Post Office.
