Postal officials mark full services, last repairs after Hurricanes Irma, Maria
What:
Postal officials host a ribbon cutting to commemorate the restoration of full service to the Charlotte Amalie Post Office, after this office, along with other USVI post offices, was greatly impacted during Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017.
Postal customers and the general public are invited to attend the events.

Background:
On Oct. 6, 1994, the law was passed to designate the Post Office located at 9630 Estate Thomas, in Saint Thomas, Virgin Islands, as the “Aubrey C. Ottley United States Post Office.” Mr. Ottley served as the community’s past postmaster from 1961 to 1980.
As a civic leader, Mr. Ottley was an integral part of the Boy Scout movement on St. Thomas. When the district council was formed in 1955, he was an original member. He served as council commissioner from 1961-1975.
The program will feature remarks by Dr. Athenial Ottley, PhD., a descendant of Aubrey C. Ottley.
