Background:

David O. Stevens was promoted to Postmaster of St. Thomas on January 11, 2025, where he manages five post offices in St. Thomas. He has been detailed as Officer In Charge of St. Thomas since June 2024.

David O. Stevens grew up in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. He graduated from the St. Croix Central High School in 1984. He relocated to St. Thomas and attended the University of the Virgin Islands where he obtained an associate’s degree in business management in 1988.

Stevens started his postal career as a window distribution clerk in 1987. Since that time, he advanced through the ranks within the Postal Service due to his commitment to service and his strong work ethics. He has served as Supervisor Customer Service, Manager Customer Service and Postmaster of St. John.  He was also detailed as Officer In Charge in Fajardo, Puerto Rico and Kingshill, St. Croix prior to his assignment to St. Thomas.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to be Postmaster of this great community of St. Thomas,” said Stevens.  “My goal is to continue providing excellent customer service by developing my employees and empowering them with the skills and knowledge to provide first-class service as outlined in the PMG’s Delivering for America 10-Year Plan .”

Stevens is the father of three adult children. He enjoys traveling to new places and outdoor recreation.
