Among 103 Washington USPS Facilities Hosting Job Fairs on Sept. 29-30
PASCO – The U.S. Postal Service will conduct an unprecedented two-day hiring “Mega Blitz” for 2,000 mail carriers, mail handlers and clerks at 103 postal facilities across Washington on Sept. 29 and 30.
Among the Washington postal facilities that will host job fairs during the Mega Blitz are the following nine in the Tri-Cities area and central Washington, which will be hosting hiring events from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 30.
“The key to success for any football team, including our hometown Seahawks, is the consistent recruitment of quality players,” said USPS Washington Human Resources Manager Alexis Delgado. “In the case of this Mega Blitz hiring event, we’re looking for 2,000 superstar recruits to help stock our roster and lead the Postal Service to victory on the field of customer service!”
In keeping with recent kickoff of football season, the hiring events will feature football décor and themes, including USPS employees decked out in the gear of their favorite football teams.
The complete list of 103 Washington post offices hosting job fairs during the hiring Mega Blitz is on the following page.
The available postal positions, which offer starting pay from $18.92 to $21.19 an hour, are great opportunities for anyone seeking fast-paced, rewarding work environments with good pay, and are a first step that could lead to long-term careers for the Postal Service.
“As outlined in our USPS Delivering for America plan, we’re modernizing and continually adapting to the changing needs of our customers,” said Delgado. “In order to do that, we need motivated, dedicated people to join us to deliver for our local communities and our nation.
“There’s never been a better time to join the Postal Service. Throughout the COVID pandemic, our employees have played essential roles in their communities. When people have been confined to their homes, when stores and supermarkets have experienced shortages or been shut down, we delivered medicines to house-bound seniors, household supplies to those unable to shop at stores, and COVID tests to anyone who needed them.
“We are a vital lifeline between our local communities and the outside world.
“We invite interested applicants to attend one of our job fairs if they want to join our winning team. If they’re looking for meaningful careers, and not just another job, we want them to join us!”
USPS personnel will be onsite at all job fairs to answer questions, assist potential applicants and provide detailed information about available positions.
USPS employment requirements include the following:
Those unable to attend the job fairs can apply online at www.usps.com/careers.
The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations
