Many Celebrities Got their Start as Postal Employees

USPS City carrier

Tacoma, WA — What do Abraham Lincoln, Brittany Howard, Steve Carrell and Walt Disney have in common? They were all Postal employees at some point on their paths to greatness. If they can do it, so can you.

While other companies are reducing their workforce, the Postal Service is actively hiring. Our goal is to welcome up to 1,000 new employees over the next few months across the State of Washington. The need is especially urgent for mail handlers, clerks, and mail carriers.

If you’re in need of a new career path or just starting out, please make plans to visit the upcoming Tacoma job fair:

  • Friday, Jan. 13, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
    Star Center Voyage Studio
    3873 S 66th St
    Tacoma, WA 98409

No appointment is necessary. The job fair will fill open positions in Tacoma, Gig Harbor, Puyallup, Olympia, and Sumner. Postal Service Human Resources employees will be available to help with benefit, qualification, and application questions. Laptops will be available on the day of event for immediate application submission. For questions, please call 253-471-6021 and mention Star Job Fair.

Our employees are our greatest asset, and we are investing in our new employees by providing robust training and on-the-job support. The Postal Service offers competitive wages and benefits, and career advancement opportunities.

Starting pay for city carriers begins at $19.33 per hour paid bi-weekly. Applications are accepted online at www.usps.com/careers.
