Manages USPS Delivery and Retail for Liberty Lake Community
Liberty Lake, WA — Luti Gibbs has accomplished quite a lot in the 10 years since she began her Postal Service career as a city carrier. And she is ready to start a new chapter as the Liberty Lake Postmaster.
Born and raised in American Samoa, Gibbs joined the Postal Service in 2013 and has quickly risen through the ranks. She has been a city carrier and city carrier instructor, as well as a customer service supervisor before being promoted to her current Postmaster position.
“Every position I’ve held thus far have all been equally rewarding in its own way. From providing our customers with the best delivery service as a letter carrier, training and passing on the knowledge to new employees, and serving as a leader to the employees. I wouldn’t be where I’m at if it had not been for each position.”
As Postmaster, she oversees seven rural delivery routes, 15 employees, and operates a full-service retail Post Office.
Gibbs knows that “Delivering for America” means not just making good, reliable service available to her customers but to also supporting her staff, “Providing our current customers with the best customer services we can offer by meeting all their delivery needs. Being a role model leader that shows up and provide encouragement to the employee[s].”
Prior to joining the Postal Service, Gibbs was a restaurant manager in Las Vegas. She earned degrees from American Samoa Community College and Washington State University.
Working for the Postal Service also runs in the family. She has a cousin who works as a carrier in Arizona for the last 25 years.
Gibbs is married with four children and stays busy through carpooling her kids and their friends to many activities. She is also a parent volunteer in her kids’ school, an active member of her church, and is a member of the Washington State University alumni association, the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC), and the National Association of Postal Supervisors (NAPS).
She says in her free time, she and her family, “love to hit the slopes skiing and lots of travel to visit families all over the country.”
