Chewelah, WA — Brenda Flowers is the new Postmaster at the Chewelah Post Office, and she has worked hard to get to her new position.
Flowers began her postal career in 2015 as a clerk in Spokane. Within the last eight years she has served as both a manager and supervisor of distribution operations and a customer service supervisor successfully landing her first Postmaster position.
In her new role Flowers oversees 14 employees and six delivery routes throughout the Chewelah community. She is determined to make a positive impact on the community and her employees as well as provide front line support for the Postal Service’s larger “Delivering for America” 10-year plan to achieve financial sustainability and service excellence.
“I am supporting our employees by investing in tools, training, and mobile [delivery] devices for our carriers as well as investing in a great workplace that is modernized to meet the changing needs of our customers.”
Flowers worked in customer service in Spokane before joining the Postal Service. She attended Eastern Washington University where she earned a bachelor’s degree. And she says she chose a postal career because she “wanted to serve the local community.”
Brenda lives with her husband and four dogs. She has two adult children, one of whom also works for the Postal Service as a mail handler in Spokane. In her spare time, she loves to garden. And is looking forward to this new stage in her career.
“I love the Chewelah community and am looking forward to [serving] all of your customer needs.”
