The Grey Fire currently burning in Spokane County has affected mail delivery for 582 addresses in Medical Lake, Washington. Of that number, 200 will not receive deliveries because the homes and businesses were destroyed.

For the customers whose homes and businesses were severely damaged and cannot be occupied, alternate delivery arrangements to a temporary address can be made at the Medical Lake Post Office or online. This will give customers the opportunity to receive important medications, checks and insurance documents.

The remaining 382 addresses will see deliveries resume as the roads to those locations are cleared of debris and reopened.

All affected customers should pick up their mail at the Medical Lake Post Office, located at 322 E Grace St., Medical Lake, WA 99022 until further notice.

The Medical Lake Post Office is open Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. - noon.

Customers will be required to show a proper photo ID in order to pick up their mail and packages or to forward mail.

The Medical Lake and Four Lake Post Office locations were temporarily closed for the weekend beginning Friday, Aug. 18 due to the mandatory evacuation order caused by the Gray Fire.

Retail transactions, such as hold mail requests, forwarding mail, or stamp purchases can be found at the Medical Lake location. And many services are also available online at usps.com.
