Wildfires Impacted Deliveries in Chattaroy, Elk, and Medical Lake
Mail delivery has resumed for a majority of the residents in the Chattaroy, Elk, and Medical Lake communities affected by the recent wildfires.
There are still some residents in Elk with curtailed mail delivery due to road closures and/or safety concerns, or missing mailboxes. Those residents should continue to pick up their mail at their local Post Office until it is safe for mail delivery to begin again.
Unfortunately, there are a few hundred residents in both Medical Lake and Elk who are unable to occupy their property due to severe damage or complete loss. For those customers, alternate delivery arrangements to a temporary address can be made at either the Medical Lake or Elk Post Office locations, or online. This will give affected residents the opportunity to receive important medications, checks and insurance documents.
The Elk Post Office is located at 9409 E Bridges Rd., Elk, WA 99009. The office is open Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – noon, and 1 p.m. – 5 p.m., and on Saturday, 8 a.m. – 10 a.m.
The Medical Lake Post Office is located at 322 E Grace St., Medical Lake, WA 99022. The office is open Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and on Saturday, 10 a.m. - noon.
Customers will be required to show a proper photo ID in order to pick up their mail and packages.
Retail transactions, such as hold mail requests or stamp purchases can be completed at both the Elk and Medical Lake office locations. And many services are also available online at usps.com.
We apologize for this inconvenience to our customers and will resume deliveries as soon as it is safe to do so.
