EDEN, WI – For the first and only time this century, Eden’s Zip Code 53019 will match the date on Thursday, May 30, 2019.  This occasion is known in U. S. Postal Service circles as “Date Meets Zip.”  The Eden Post Office, celebrating at the Eden Café, located at 303 W Main Street, is offering a special “Garden of Eden” postmark to commemorate the event. 

The Eden Post office will offer cake on Thursday, May 30 from 10:00am until 3:00pm at the Eden Café.  We hope to have a local celebrity on hand for autographs as well.   

 “We are honored to serve Eden and be a proud member of this community,” said Eden Postmaster Ray Aumann.  “We welcome customers to stop by Thursday and join us in celebrating this unique event in or town”.

Residents and businesses are invited to bring their own postcards, letters or purchase an envelope from the Eden Post Office, on location at Eden Cafe and have it stamped with the commemorative postmark to mark the occasion.  The postmark will be available for 30 days after the event.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
