Postal Service Provides Rare Tour of Holiday Mail Processing in Eau Claire, Wisconsin

Come view behind-the-scenes operations of Santa’s helpers!

Tour of Holiday Mail

What:

The Eau Claire Processing & Distribution Facility will handle millions of mail and parcels this holiday season. We are opening up our parcel sorting operation to the media for one day only.

We will show customers what happens behind the curtain when their mail and packages leave the Post Office. It’s industrial, but there are some really great visuals of high-tech, high-speed processing, large chutes of parcels, automated systems, and people sorting mail and parcels manually.

When & Where:

Monday, December 9 from 4:00 PM to 5:00PM (tour starts promptly at 4:00)
Eau Claire Processing & Distribution Facility
3510 Hogarth St., Eau Claire, WI

RSVP & Point of Contact:

Please RSVP by December 5 to USPS Strategic Communications Specialist Kristy Anderson at kristy.l.anderson@usps.gov or (612) 271-7571.

We will have a spokesperson on hand to talk about mailing tips, deadlines and ways to save money and time.

A facility manager will conduct the tour and speak about the equipment, transportation and employees.

No open toe or open heel shoes. No heels. Tour may consist of walking grated catwalk and climbing stairs.

Entry Instructions:

When you arrive, please park in the lot, go to the main door and ring the buzzer where you will be greeted.
