Notice of Proposed Relocation and Comment Period

What:

The U.S. Postal Service is mailing a postcard to the Comstock WI addresses, announcing a proposed relocation of the Post Office previously located at 1866 US Highway 63, Comstock, WI 54826-9525. The postcard provides information about the public comment period.

Background:

Due to a loss of lease, the Postal Service is now looking for a new retail location within three miles of the previous location. The Postal Service is looking for either (a) an existing building that is about 550 SF with 8+ parking or (b) land to lease that is about 8,500 SF for the Postal Service to place a Postal owned building. 

The relocation project will consist of procuring a suitable substitute location, as close as reasonably possible to the existing location. Retail Services will continue at the Cumberland WI Post Office until all necessary preparations are completed at the new location.
