Proposed Relocation of West Columbia, WV, Post Office

What:

The U.S. Postal Service will mail a postcard to the impacted community, announcing a proposed relocation of the West Columbia, WV, Main Post Office formally located at 17404 Ohio River Rd, West Columbia, WV - 25287. The postcard provides information about the public comment period.

Background:

Due to landlord’s nonrenewal of the lease of the formal facility, the Postal Service is now looking for a new retail location within three miles from the former location. The desired size of the new facility needs to be one of the following:

(a) an existing building, approximately 500 square feet, with dedicated parking or (b) a land site to lease, approximately 8,500 square feet, in which the Postal Service can bring in a postal-owned modular building.

The relocation project will consist of procuring a suitable substitute location, as close as reasonably possible to the existing location.

We are inviting comments on the proposal and request they be sent to the following address within 45 days from delivery of the postcard: United States Postal Service, ATTN: West Columbia, WV, Main Post Office Relocation, PO BOX 27497, Greensboro, NC - 27498-1103.
