Background:
On September 24, 2020, Senator Michael Enzi introduced Senate Bill 4684 to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 440 Arapahoe Street in Thermopolis, Wyoming as the “Robert L. Brown Post Office” which was signed into Public Law 116-268 by the President on December 30, 2020. This was cosponsored by Senator John Barrasso and Senator Thomas Carper.
The ceremony will be attended by members of Brown’s family, Senator John Barrasso, Governor Mark Gordon and community members.
The Postal Service does not receive tax dollars for operating expenses; it relies entirely on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
