U.S. Postal Service to Dedicate Star Ribbon Forever Stamp
What:
The Postal Service is issuing a Star Ribbon Forever stamp. The stamp features a digital illustration of a star made from a single red, white and blue ribbon. The stamp will be sold in coils of 3,000 and 10,000 and in panes of 20.
The first-day-of-issue event for the stamp is free and open to the public. News of the stamp is being shared with the hashtag #StarRibbonStamp.Who:

Background:
The tri-colored ribbon, folded into a patriotic symbol, is intended to evoke the connectedness of the American people. Aaron Draplin, who designed the stamp, created the artwork first by sketching the design by hand and then rendering it digitally. Greg Breeding served as the project’s art director.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
