Akron Post Office, 197 1st Ave S., 35441-1935 — All operations are suspended temporarily. All operations at the Akron Post Office will be moved to the Moundville Post Office, 259 2nd Ave., 35474-3911. Retail hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon. Drop shipment hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Walnut Grove Post Office, 4030 Gadsden Bloutnsville Rd., 35990-2000 — All operations are temporarily suspended due to building damage. All operations for the Walnut Grove Post Office have been moved to the Altoona Post Office, 2920 College St., 35952-8331. Retail hours are Monday through Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. On Thursday and Saturday, hours are 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Drop shipment hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., and 12:00 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Processing facilities that temporarily closed due to Hurricane Isaias have now re-opened. Mobile Processing and Distribution Center (P&DC) NASS Code 365 and Mobile Annex NASS Code 365AN are open and processing volume. FAST appointments may resume at these locations. Some areas may still experience delivery delays as cleanup efforts continue. The Postal Service is closely monitoring the situation and proactively adjusting where possible to minimize service disruptions. The safety of our customers and employees remains our top priority.
